Im finished!! wow, The last 5 days hav just flowed into each other. No one can prepare you for this.  I have seen strrong athletes taken down. 2 are now in hospital.  the last 48 hours have left only my shell, however I feel like Im shinning brighter.  I cant move and NZ boarders are going to put me in qaurenteen for a week to see what grows from me.  I have shared all my good drugs and we lie only making eye movements.  hehehe.  we run to the pyrimids tomoro to celebrate with the egyption gods then.  PIZZA and a banquete waiting for us...
Ill bring photos when I return.  I captured the best and the WORST.  love to you all...

I was breathless starting yesturday morning, I was breathless with what I saw out here in almighty Sahara, I was breathless on top of this huge ridge and wind trying to knock me off, I was breathless when I ran in for a 2 1/2 hr sleep with sweaty, stink bodies every where. I was breathless when I ran into check point 6 and two more to go cramping every step of the way, I was breathless when I watched the moring sun rise again and realised I would be at camp 20km away, I was breathless when I couldnt go on and my buddies picked me up and carried me on, I was breathless when I saw the finish line and could hear my tipuna calling me in and could hear all your words carrying me.... Thank you.

I heard some wise words some time ago from a mentor/freind, went some thing like this,PAIN and great anguish/suffering of the tinana/hinengaro/wairua, comes at a great price, a toll paid all the same, and is the way of ridding the body of weakness, and all that remains is, YOU/who fordged a inner pilar of strength. YOU FOUGHT YOURSELF AND WON.use it wisely in your life and let it guide you when you require it most.it is a blessing, a great blessing and testament of your capabilities which obviously are still to be discovered, a pilar of light is what you have paid for, which wil stand out in the depths of any dark night of life, when darkness will come, it will certainly assist you through, ENJOY this moment of success my babe. Im so proud for you. well almost completed the course,10 ks and its done.Xxxx

Posted On: 06 Oct 2011 06:44 am

Hey there bev, I dont know you but hope you got my previous message!. I cant but help keep an eye out on your progress as I have been where you have been and where you are going!!!. You are doing awesome - slowly but surely, inch by inch you are nailing that 250km. You have the hardest bit ahead now but believe me it is the best of all. Your journey will take you to new places in your mind and body, and will have an impact on your life forever - as it did me - so much so that I am in for the Atacama in 2012!!! But now you need to "suck it up and own the bastard" - I remember day 5 well - especially the meteor which was mind blowing ( once I realised it wasnt a hallucination!!) - especially in the dark with no one 2 hours in front or behind me to share it with - there is no gain without pain, this is what you have worked so hard for, and you will soon realise your full potential - once you have nailed day 5 the business is done my dear so kia kaha to you and in spirit I am there too. Regards megan

Havent heard from you, thinking you must be sorting out some kai. if you can eat, or at the medical tent being put back together, or having your blisters drained and just trying to survive and get your mind around toughing it out for the next day,Do your best and keepmoving and dont stop, just keep moving. I know that looking down in the sand is what you end up doing for long period of the walk, the pack, the heat, the sand. Keep trying to push your WILL babe.Whate ever you can give.To get this far is an achievement in its self"For Sure".You are among a group of special people who are driven and im sure you have come close to seeing your true self, your abilities, and seeing your capabilities and your limitations. I encourage you to do your best considering the opponent and opposition (The Sahara. remember that we still think you are special and that this is a GREAT achievement. see if you can do it to the end babe, and if so then awesome, and if not, then you did your best. Thats all that matters. what ever the result it wil make you a better person for it and you can get up again with the next challenge life will present either by choice or by your own choice. so if your still in then race then keep to the course, and use wisdom and your WILL to push you untill theres is no more to give. We love you and are hoping you are okay.Xxxx

U run because U can. When U get tired, remember those who can't run, what they'd give to have this simple gift U take for granted, and U run a little longer for them. U know they would do the same for U The body does not want you to do this. As you run, it tells you to stop but the mind must be STRONG. You always go too far for your body. You must handle the pain with strategy and perseverance...It is not age; it is not diet. It is your will to succeed..and YOUR will alone....

Posted On: 03 Oct 2011 11:24 pm

You should worry if you are seeing penquins or polar bears. Other than that I'll bet there are lot of strange and unexpected things in the desert. I'll bet you never complain of the heat at home again. You'll just say- this is nothing, I remember the time I was treking across the sahara. It is tomorrow there as I write so in a few hours you wake up and go again. Sweet dreams my dear. Love you.

Go go go gadget!!!! Told your ass to do some more training... move beach move get mad, get serious, sing your lil songs in your head. Take a deep breath in and if you feel lost remember were it is you are...The Sahara Desert!!! Walk if you need to one foot after another "All truly great thoughts are conceived while walking" - Fredrich Nietzsche German Philosopher Decide before the race the conditions that will cause you to stop and drop out. You don't want to be out there saying, Well gee, my leg hurts, I'm a little dehydrated, I'm sleepy, I'm tired, and its hot and windy. And talk yourself into quitting. If you are making a decision based on how you feel at that moment, you will probably make the wrong decision. Run every race like it's suicide: and it's a perfect day to die I dont know if any of this will help you or piss you off but please just remember we love you XXX Presley and Sister see you soon XOXO

Bev you dont know me but I did the sahara last year so I know every bit of what you are feeling! I am jealous that I am not there again!!. Pace yourself, listen to your body, be vigilant with your food and fluids. Take it check point at a time and rest heaps when you get in each nite - enjoy the scenery and everyone else on the course. Dont doubt anything, be strong and make your fears your friend!

Posted On: 03 Oct 2011 10:28 am

Oh wait, I thought you were going to a spa for 6 days. Perhaps the fact that there are only 150 people on a planet with 7 billion people should have been your first clue. If anyone can make it you can. Imagine Stuart waiting for you at the finish line... that's what I do when I'm spinning and my heart is about to max out. You are in our thoughts, each minute. Love you.
